Dear parents, 

I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through our regular season! Just a few notes on my end this week: 

PRACTICES 

We have the best, most devoted coaches around and they are all doing such an amazing job!!! For them to be able to keep doing such a good job, please do your part to help them keep their focus solely on coaching our swimmers during this time. As a friendly reminder, some of our practice guidelines include: 

-The only swimmers that are permitted in the pool during practice are those swimmers whose age group is actively practicing. (This includes the steps.) 

-Our coaches are more than happy to discuss your individual swimmer(s), but please contact them outside the 8:45 AM - 12:00 PM practice window so they can give you their full attention at that time. Discussing your swimmer during any of the practices is taking the coaches’ focus off the other swimmers. 

-Siblings who are not actively practicing must be supervised AT ALL TIMES by parents/caregivers. 

AWAY MEET @ FALLS OF AUTRY MILL THIS THURSDAY, 6/10 

-Address: 9825 Autry Falls Drive 

-Parking: Parking may be difficult, so please allow extra time to park. There is a parking lot in front of the clubhouse and street parking is available. Please only park on one side of the street and do not block driveways. 

-Bullpen: Our bullpen location will be in the grassy area behind the pool house. We are welcome to bring tents and folding chairs. 

-Spectators: Parents/spectators will be allowed on the pool deck. Chairs are very limited, so folding chairs are welcome/encouraged. They highly encourage anyone not fully vaccinated to wear a mask and social distance. 

-Concessions: Hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, salad, buttered noodles, pork sandwiches, candy, chips, assorted beverages, etc. will be available for purchase. Cash or credit cards are accepted. 

JCAT 

As Coach Carson explained in his last email, all members of the Oxford Mill swim team aged 7-18 are eligible to swim on the Johns Creek Aquatic Team (“JCAT”) at the GRPA State Championship Swim Meet, which will be held at the Cumming Aquatic Center on July 16 for those aged 7-10 and July 17 for swimmers 11 & up. Practices will be held at the Falls of Autry Mill neighborhood pool the couple weeks leading up to the meet. Eligible swimmers who are interested in qualifying for a spot on JCAT MUST swim in the ASA Championship meet, as the events your swimmer swims at the ASA meet will determine what s/he is able to swim at the state meet. In addition, your swimmer’s time at the ASA meet is the only criteria used to determine placement on JCAT. 

IMPORTANT!!! IF YOUR SWIMMER WISHES TO TRY TO QUALIFY FOR JCAT, YOU MUST EMAIL COACH CARSON AT [email protected] PRIOR TO THE SUNDAY ASA DEADLINE.
